In the oldest legends, Bahamut (bah-hahm-ut) is the teacher and exemplar of the Blood Isler people. He succeeded in teaching them the strength in goodness and has been a constant influence throughout history. Bahamut is stern and very disapproving of evil. He brooks no excuses for evil acts. In spite of this, he is among the most compassionate beings in the multiverse. He has limitless empathy for the downtrodden, the dispossessed, and the helpless. He urges his followers to promote the cause of good, but prefers to let beings fight their own battles when they can. To Bahamut, it is better to offer information, healing, or a (temporary) safe refuge rather than to take other’s burdens upon oneself.

Unfortunately the remoteness and subtlety of Bahamut has not always been appreciated by the folk of the Blood isles and the Crimson Coast. He is not popular and other gods attract more followers. Bahamut has few clerics and even fewer temples though the island of Andlang is a sacred site for him and his followers. His Valkyrie warrior-maidens are renowned across the Blood Isles and the Crimson Coast but the sacking of their Andlang temple by Bjorg One-Eye and the Great Sea Dragon virtually wiped them out so that only a handful remains.
